We held our annual charity tournament on Saturday 20th May. This year the captains decided to support a local mental health charity Aware Defeat Depression. This event was kindly sponsored by Noel McAnearny.

We had a great days tennis and after some exciting matches the first semi finalists were Neil Moore & Moyra Gray v Scott Mitchell & Ali McElvogue with Neil & Moyra winning the tiebreak 10/7. Our second semi finalists were Michael Dorrian & Jill Martin v David Latimer & Marion Brown with Davy & Marion winning 10/8.

The final was a closely fought affair with Neil & Moyra emerging victorious with a 10/9 win!!

A big shout out as always to Jim Lonsdale for organising these events. He has amazing patience with us, has the event running like clockwork and his only reward is a cup of tea!!

Paddy and Desi drew for ‘Guess the number of balls in the Bag’ competition – but a coin toss declared Paddy the winner.

Finally a big thankyou to those members who provided food, tea and coffee for the day.
